Kheradruakh, the Decapitator (5)

Christmas is aproaching fast, but luckily I already have a few days off, so I can hopefully complete the Decapitator in time for my nephews gift.

I continued adding details and highlights.

Here I have everything, except the maggots and the ambient light from the flames.

And this is the hopefully completed mini - KHERADRUAKH, the Decapitator.

Here the ambient light from the flames is nicely visible.

Well, this was quite a differnet project, but it was fun.

Thanks for your patience while acompanying me on the little trip into the world of the Dark Eldar. I'm glad when I'm back home with my Imperial Guard and Orks :)

I wish you all a Merry Christmas or Happy Hollidays and I hope you can enjoy some days off with the family. Time for a good book, good food with the family and friends, and maybe even some hobby time.
Enjoy the season.
See you soon

Kheradruakh, the Decapitator (4)

Well, I started painting :)

Here you can see all the base colors applied.

Then I toned everything down with several coats of washes. Mainly Devlan Mud and Badab Black, but also Gryphone Sepia on the yellow parts and Azurmen Blue on the flames and the sword.
Then I experimented with the lights a bit. I will try to paint him with this light setting.

So the front will be pretty dark, while his back will be more in the light.

I also checked light from below - this also has its virtues, but I think the light from above will work better...hopefully.

Then I started by painting the blue flames.

Next were the highlights on his skin.

Then the dark red of the runes.

And the brighter red insides of the runes - so they look like they're glowing.

Then I applied some highlights in Bleached Bone to the elbow blades and the skulls on the base.

And I gave the Decapitator sword and energy flash pattern.

That's as far as I got over the last two days :)
Cheers

Kheradruakh, the Decapitator (3)

Hehe, the lack of comments seems to indicate you all don't quite know what to think of my latest project :)
The echo I received in the forums was also not very conclusive, mainly the head of this little killer seems to provoke negative reactions. But that's OK, he's not to be a beauty queen anyway.

Well, he did receive some hair.

First I was afraid he'd look a bit emo, but I think it's OK now.

I added some more details, like the elbow blades and some more ornaments.

Also the base received some more details, like maggots :)

I really hope I can pull this off, there's a lot of detail.

Final shot before the base coat.

And here he is, primed and ready for painting.

Cheers
